Artist's Reception at The Buttery

From 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, The Buttery Restaurant is hosting an art opening and reception for local artist Pamella Bounds-Seemans. From Feb. 12 until March 17, her new paintings will be displayed in the Lewes restaurant.

Bounds-Seemans, born and raised in Milton, is known for her acrylic paintings surrounded by a collage border and hand-painted frame. Her latest series will feature local scenes and upcoming holiday themes, in her one-of-a-kind whimsical style.“I have been painting Lewes and local scenes for years,” she said. “But this show will also include my take on upcoming holiday themes like Valentine’s Day, Mardi Gras, and St. Patrick’s Day. Because of my use of different mediums like acrylic paint, gems, found objects, and the like, I thought it would be fun to make paintings and jewelry inspired by some of the most colorful and decadent holidays coming up.”Bounds-Seemans received an MFA in painting from Highlands University in Las Vegas, N.M. She is a Delaware Division of the Arts fellowship recipient and won Best Artist from Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Va. Her works are owned and displayed around the world, including at the Tideline Gallery in Rehoboth Beach. The Buttery is a Lewes landmark restaurant known for its inspired food and elegant atmosphere.
